About Mark

Mark is a native of Florida: "The Sunshine State". However, since his father was in the military during his early years, and due to the fact Mark is a former US Navy Submariner and now a minister, he has had the opportunity of living in sixteen different states. "I see it as a blessing as it has afforded my family the opportunity to see so much of what God has created."

Prior to coming to the South Burlington Church of Christ in August of 2020, Mark has served at the following congregations: the Shady Grove Church of Christ in Ethridge, Tennessee; the Tilden Church of Christ in Fulton, Mississippi (where he concurrently served as a deacon); the Northern Lights Church of Christ in Fairbanks, Alaska (where he also served as a Police Chaplain); the Covington Church of Christ in Covington Virginia (where he concurrently served as an elder, and also served as a member of the Covington Volunteer Rescue Squad and as a Hospice Chaplain); the Annapolis Church of Christ in Arnold, Maryland; the Madison Avenue Church of Christ in Pierre, South Dakota (were he also served as Police Chaplain, President of the Board of Directors for Capital Area Counseling, and Chief Volunteer Officer for the Boys and Girls Club); the Appleton Church of Christ in Five Points, Tennessee; and the Watterson Trail Church of Christ in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.

Mark and Jennifer have been married since 1984 and have four children and one granddaughter.

"My favorite Scripture is Isaiah 40:31. Sometimes being a minister can wear you out, having to balance preaching and visiting and preparations and family and emergencies and ... well, you get the picture. But God has promised to always renew my strength and make it so I can run and not be wearly (in spirit), that I can walk and not faint. I find great strength and reassurance in this promise."
